We moved to Prospect Heights from Morton Grove. The movers were punctual and very, very nice. They took care of our things and the price was super decent. The previous owners left some furniture that we weren't keeping and they moved it to our garage free of charge! Really nice guys!

My Mom recently moved into the Carrington of Lincolnwood from our condo in Lincolnshire. The Carrington recommended North Shore Movers and rightly so.

They were prepared, quick and very reasonably priced. The only negative comment I would have is we never received a written confirmation of price or the date of move. We finally ended up writing up a quick agreement and sending it to North Shore.

They did exceed the estimated price by $100 which was okay since there was a bit of wait time involved.

Would hire them again.

I have moved many many times... and all but one of those moves I used North Shore Movers. The one time I didn't use them was a huge mistake.

Let me give you the reasons why North Shore is the best:

1. Everyone who works for them is incredibly nice. Movers tend to be strong burly types, and the one time I didn't use North Shore, I was barely spoken to. Every time I've used North Shore, not only are the movers friendly but they help me figure out where to put everything and how to decorate my house. I'm not kidding. Our highboy would not be placed at an angle in the corner, where it looks fantastic if it weren't for my movers insisting it would look best there (they were right).

2. They are honest honest honest honest. I cannot stress how important this is when people are taking your worldly possessions and moving them. The one time I did NOT use North Shore, the moving company put all my stuff on their truck and then insisted that I pay them BEFORE they finished the job. When I told them to finish and then they'd get paid (um hay hourly rate!) they told me they would not finish the job - that would be extortion. North Shore movers never pulls shit like that. They give you a good and fair estimate of how long it will take and what it will cost. They're usually spot on.

3. They are incredibly careful with your stuff. I have a piano and a lot of 1920s wood and glass furniture that I inherited from my grandparents. They handle everything with kid gloves and have never broken anything. My piano didn't even need to be tuned when they were done.

I will never hire another moving company. I cannot recommend them to you highly enough!

Moving is stressful enough, right? So you want movers you can trust. I went off a friend's recommendation for North Shore Movers and was glad I did.

-- I called weeks before I needed them to get a quote. When I called back, weeks later, to book them, the quote I was given was higher ($10-15 more an hour) than the original quote. When I mentioned that, they honored the lower price.

-- They called to confirm when they said they would, the day before they were scheduled.

-- They called to ask if they could show up early (which, in my case, worked perfectly. Had it not, at least they called first to ask.)

-- Probably partially due to my awesome organization skills, they were done before the minimum 2hour timeframe.

-- The guys were friendly. They made jokes, to me and to each other. They were efficient. They didn't let me lift a hand.

-- They padded the furniture I was most concerned with extremely well. I have a beautiful cherry entertainment center that they padded, wrapped, and loaded so that it arrived 800 miles later without a scratch.

I got quotes from a couple different places, and NSM was in the middle of the pack price-wise. I figured it was worth a few extra bucks to go with someone trusted - and I was right.

(When writing their check, the movers said the company preferred I pay in cash since I was moving out of state - but that was the first I heard of it. Since my check was accepted, no complaints here. Also, I only used them to load the truck, not to drive it anywhere.)

Great experience with Rob and his staff! They moved a 1600 lb Stonegrinder downstairs to our workshop, and brought our old belt sander upstairs. Excellent work, guys! Highly recommend!

Northshore movers made the move out of my house easy and pleasant! The movers were extremely careful, but very quick and efficient.. They finished up everything in less time than expected and were extremely accommodating and made the experience as fun as a move could be. The owner is a very nice man who did exactly as he promised for a reasonable and very competitive rate. They are excellent!

Excellent experience! I hate moving because there are so many unknowns. This was one of the best experiences I have had. The company gave an accurate quote and told me to prepare for a little over or under but the quote was right in the mark. NSM called to confirm my move and arrived within the widow I was told. They took great care if my belongings by padding and wrapping exposed furniture. They made sure my floor was protracted. The men were very personable (and funny) and they moved stuff from room to room for me. I would refer this company and use them again.
